Before we begin, a disclaimer – nothing here is financial advice. We’re analyzing projects that we find interesting in the hope that you’ll enjoy learning about them as well.
With that, let’s dive in.
Imagine the birth of a new colony on Mars.
Lured by the promise of a better future, the colony attracts thousands of citizens and billions of dollars from investors. Architects start drawing up plans for apartment buildings, coworking spaces, banks, parks, cafes, and restaurants. Everyone is enthusiastic to improve upon the earth-bound colonies they once called home.
But there’s a problem– not enough people know how to do construction on Mars. Sure, there are similarities to building on earth, but the differences are critical for creating the infrastructure for the colony to survive.
The colony needs an organization that can set universal standards, build prefabricated modules, and create a shared technical infrastructure that will make it easier and faster to construct buildings on Mars.
This colony represents the current state of web3. Lots of dollars chasing ideas, without enough builders that can turn these dreams into reality. Fortunately, unlike Mars, web3 has an organization that’s forming to make building easier. It’s called thirdweb.
Launched in the second half of 2021 and backed by investors like Gary Vaynerchuk and Mark Cuban, thirdweb makes it easy for creators to build, launch, and manage their own web3 projects without writing code. thirdweb provides the tools and prefabricated components that creators can leverage to build web3-enabled apps faster and cheaper.
They offer smart contracts, SDKs (software development kits), widgets, and UI components that builders can implement into their apps, NFTs collections, marketplaces, DAOs, and games.
Not only is thirdweb building a number of useful products, but they’re building them across a range of blockchains.
If you’re worried about cost, fear not. thirdweb is free to experiment with. The company’s business model involves taking a small percentage of revenue that your project generates. If you don’t make money, neither do they.
thirdweb’s mission is undeniably powerful. By making building in web3 easier, more innovators will be able to run a higher number of experiments at a lower cost. As more of these projects succeed, humanity gets closer and closer to the dream of building a new colony on the frontier.
